Position Summary:

The ASC Patient Services Supervisor leads and develops their team (Patient Service Coordinators, OR Schedulers, and other entry-level staff) to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care. This role provides leadership, guidance, and supervision, leveraging demonstrated proficiency in the team's responsibilities. Key functions include participating in hiring, training, competency assessment, and performance evaluation; collaborating with nursing leadership and the Administrator on workflows, patient safety, and patient experience; assuming management responsibilities in the Administrator's absence; and managing office/front desk supplies via SAP. The Supervisor also provides crucial backup support for front desk operations (check-in/registration) and the OR Scheduler.

Shift: Days, Full Time (40 hours), Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Work Location: Green Spring Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Lutherville, MD 21093, and White Marsh Ambulatory Surgery Center, Nottingham, MD 21236.

Education: An associate's degree and OR 7 years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree.

Work Experience: Minimum three years in a clinic or hospital setting; prior supervisory experience preferred.

Requirements:




  • Understanding of ASC, physician office, and/or clinical operations, including appointment scheduling and registration, where appropriate
  • Knowledge of third-party insurance and accountable/managed care concepts
  • Knowledge of physician billing, hospital billing, and regulatory requirements is preferred
  • Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office, EPIC, Kronos, and SAP
  • Expense reimbursement
  • Payroll approval and submission
  • Office supply ordering (and thus tracking of office supplies)
  • Processing check requests (for vendors that do not direct bill to Hopkins A/P)
  • Participate in the re-authorization of procedures as necessary
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong customer service focus for patients/family and providers in the clinic.
  • Demonstrates initiative and leadership qualities
  • Mature judgment and a high level of motivation and professionalism
  • Analytical ability to evaluate practice metrics and make recommendations to improve operating procedures
  • Ability to prioritize and pursue multiple tasks in tandem
  • Ability to represent the clinic effectively at institutional-level meetings and with outside entities
  • Financial skills are necessary to manage budgets and appropriately control expenses



Salary Range: Minimum $23.96/hour - Maximum $39.57/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
