Job Duties/Scope Of Work

At the Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo), located in Richland, Washington, we are working to provide a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River and the remediation of the Central Plateau. In D4 End States (D4ES), the Waste Disposition Manager will manage personnel and processes to address characterizing, packaging, transporting, and disposing of low-level waste (LLW), mixed waste (MW), and transuranic (TRU) waste to be generated in support of deactivation, decontamination, dismantlement, and demolition (D4) activities. The primary duty of this position is to manage Waste Management subject-matter-experts (SMEs) and the Non-Destructive Assay (NDA) group. The Waste Management SMEs and the NDA group provide technical support for D4ES projects including the 324 Building, the 400 Area, 100K, and Central Plateau facilities within the 200 East and West areas. The NDA group also provides support to other organization throughout CPCCo.
Responsibilities of the D4ES Waste Disposition Manager includes the following areas: - Ensuring compliance with applicable standards including regulatory requirements and DOE Order 435.1, "Radioactive Waste Management". - Ensuring appropriate application of regulations and standards to implement strategies to compliantly characterize facilities and waste sites to support generation and final disposition of LLW, MW, and TRU in the form of discrete waste items/equipment, soil/vegetation, and demolition debris, as applicable. - Ensuring compliance with various authorizations under CERCLA and RCRA at various locations throughout the Hanford Site. - Providing direction and oversight of exempt and HAMTC bargaining unit personnel. - Ensuring certification and technical validity of NDA systems, procedures, and data to support Safeguards and Security, Criticality Safety, and Nuclear Safety programs.
Basic Qualifications
* Manager Grade 21 - Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline plus 10 years of relevant experience and at least 4 years of required relevant experience must be nuclear experience.
* Manager Grade 22 - Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline plus 12 years of relevant experience and at least 4 years of required relevant experience must be nuclear experience.
The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority, impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based on the needs of the company and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with MS Office software - Understanding of regulatory and safety requirements associated with the nuclear field - Experience with radiological and/or chemical sampling and radiological/chemical inventory development - Experience with DOE software applications and/or Visual Sample Planning - Experience with MARSSIM and MARSAME - Demonstrated knowledge of the D4 process - Familiarity with the use and setup of NDA equipment.
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.
Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):
* Grade 21 - $142,038 - $179,113 * Grade 22 - $159,363 - $209,688
In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
