DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In the context of a rotational assignment within the Environmental Unit, the individual provides valuable support to professional staff by assisting in the collection, organization, and preparation of essential information for environmental permit applications. This work is conducted under the supervision of a Civil Engineer specializing in Transportation or the District Permit Coordinator. The role involves participating in environmental field assessments to evaluate site conditions, which is crucial for compiling documentation necessary for Categorical Exclusion Evaluations (CEEs) and associated permits. Additionally, the individual contributes to the review process of various plans, including stormwater management, erosion and sedimentation control, as well as hydrologic and hydraulic data. Furthermore, the role encompasses tracking actions related to permits and systematically organizing environmental documentation to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and permitting requirements.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City, PA.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $64,861.00 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of civil engineering experience, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or in a closely related field, which includes or was supplemented by major course work in civil engineering; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes possession of an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within nine months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
