TITLE: Advanced Senior CAE Safety Engineer

DUTIES: Responsible for using advanced computer aided engineering (CAE) techniques and tools to develop and optimize vehicle crash safety performance in impact conditions. Creating full vehicle crash finite element models using ANSA, PRIMER, and VISUAL ENVIRONMENT. Performing structural and occupant safety analysis using LS-Dyna, MADYMO, and Hyperworks to assess vehicle crashworthiness for regulatory and third-party targets as required by USNCAP, FMVSS, EuroNCAP, ECE, and IIHS. Developing and tuning restraint components such as different airbags, seat belts, steering columns etc. Using analysis results to develop design solutions and needed enablers to meet vehicle safety and occupant safety requirements and regulations; discussing, communicating, and presenting analysis results and developed countermeasures to various engineering organizations in order to accomplish feasible cost-effective solutions. Correlating CAE performance with test results; and documenting best practices and lessons learned for future development/optimization.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study and 5 years of experience in job offered or related engineering. Experience must include: knowledge of non-linear analytical tools/software for root-causing and solving various automotive crash safety development related projects/assignments; Developing full vehicle impact models using software ANSA, and simulating various crash/safety modes using LS Dyna, MADYMO; Debugging models, root-cause performance issues, and identify solutions or alternate options to address the issue; Conduct physical testing to attempt successful model to test correlation; and Using validated CAE simulation models for future development and optimization activities.
