SUMMARY
This entry-level position is responsible for assisting in the design, analysis, review, and documentation of NFT Mechanical products. NFT specializes in filter containers and equipment to support facilities handling nuclear materials. These include specialized equipment for detecting radiation and nuclear criticality events. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, physicists, senior engineers, and technicians to support the creation and implementation of electrical designs necessary for project deliverables within contract requirements and budget constraints. The engineer must adhere to all safety and quality requirements while performing assigned tasks.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Assist in the design and optimization of electrical components for systems.
  • Create Solidworks engineering drawings in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Support system calculations for Mechanical systems.
  • Aid in the development of project schedules and workforce requirements.
  • Review technical vendor submittals for installation requirements.
  • Comply with all CADRE values, Operating Model , policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable Quality Assurance requirements, implementing system methods, and documentation according to NFT, customer, national, and international standards.
  • Support the review of development plans for compliance with engineering standards and practices.
  • Help develop and complete actions in system specifications, technical and logistical requirements, and other disciplines.
  • Create and maintain programmatic and technical documentation for efficient planning and execution.
  • Assist with assembly, testing, and debugging during builds when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Required:



  • Basic understanding of engineering and client relations in a design/manufacturing environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Basic proficiency in Solidworks.
  • Ability to work with supervision, start projects independently or as assigned, and bring projects to a satisfactory conclusion on time.
  • Willingness to perform additional duties/assignments to meet departmental and organizational goals.


Desired:



  • Knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement Programs.
  • Hands-on manufacturing experience using engineering designs.
