Position Purpose |
For all degree-granting programs at the Geisel School of Medicine, the Registrar directs all activities of the Registrar's Office, including oversight of Geisel's academic calendars and students' academic records, ensuring the highest quality and responsive service to students, alumni, and faculty. Oversees student enrollments, degrees awarded, and academic eligibility for various internal and external audiences. Provides critical leadership and guidance to faculty and students in the areas of academic policy, enrollment, and course information. Ensures effective communication and collaborates with colleagues across Dartmouth and optimizes available technologies to automate and ensure efficient processes and accurate information. |

- Familiarity with Health professions programs and licensing entities.
- Proficiency in utilizing and optimizing information systems and familiarity with Banner, OASIS, and other integrated student administrative systems.
- Experience with working as a team with other academic administrators and faculty.
- Demonstrated adaptability to meet changing demands, including the ability to be flexible and available to leadership, faculty, and staff on an as-needed basis.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational ability.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and develop policy and procedures.
- Commitment to, and experience with, diverse groups of administrators, faculty, staff, and students.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong project management and planning skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a complex environment.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Master's degree or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of and familiarity with current trends and regulations in the registrar field and experience in the effective use of academic records management technologies.

Key Accountabilities
Description |
Academic Administration
- Directs and oversees the implementation of registration processes for students in all Geisel School of Medicine degree-granting programs.
- Interprets Geisel and College regulations pertaining to grading policies and graduation requirements and communicates with students, faculty, and administration.
- Directs the certification process for student enrollment, degrees awarded and academic eligibility to various governmental, public, private, and licensing agencies.
- Manages student information, including collection of grades, academic status, and verifications; tracks incomplete grades and follows up as necessary.
- Oversees compilation and dissemination of academic calendars and term schedules.
- Provides guidance and expertise to the staff in the Registrar's Office with their use of the OASIS scheduling system for the MD program and Dartmouth's Banner system, especially implementing new functionality and troubleshooting challenges.
- Provides data on enrollment and related subjects to internal and external agencies.
- Coordinates registration with other Dartmouth registrars for joint/dual degree programs.
- Leads efforts to create more efficient and effective processes related to student academic records and course planning.
- Provides insight on opportunities for system improvements and input to system projects; participates in testing of system changes.
- Oversees the budget for the Office of the Registrar. Supervises team of employees in the Office of the Registrar, providing direction and coaching that maximizes team success.
- Serves on various Geisel and Dartmouth committees.
- Oversees staff in the function of the Academic Progress Committee (APC) for the MD program at Geisel, including maintaining records and overseeing APC processes.

Student Advising
- Responds to student inquiries regarding enrollment management concerns in a timely manner.
- Oversees processes for monitoring student progress against curriculum requirements and communicating with students about non-compliance and steps needed to rectify.
- Reviews student program plans/status changes and provides guidance on the process and works with other Dartmouth and Geisel offices as needed.
