Oversees operations and direction of the Clinic and Outreach Sites for the designated service line. Provides strategic planning, program development, recruitment and retention, resource distribution, and institute integration. Responsible for supporting the financial, administrative and operational management and applicable policies, rules and procedures established by University Health Associates, West Virginia University, WVU Foundation, Inc., WVU Research Corporation, and West Virginia University Hospitals, Inc. and WVUHS Medical Group
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field AND three (3) years of management and/or administrative experience; OR Associate's degree in business or related field AND (5) years of management and/or administrative expereince. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Advanced degree in healthcare related field or Master's in Healthcare Administration EXPERIENCE: 1. Experience in a healthcare setting 2. Experience in a large multi-specialty or single-specialty physician group practice, a vertically integrated health system, or multi-site physician practice preferred CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Directly manage the operations and financial management of the dedicated clinical areas as well as outreach clinics with the support of the Medical Director of service line. 2. Works with Executive Leadership to establish a Strategic Plan for the Clinic and Outreach services. 3. Define the resources required to implement the strategic plan and work with leaders across WVUHS to determine how the needed resources will be provided. 4. Develop and manage the capital and operating budgets for the Clinic and Outreach services of Service Line and its defined interests, while monitoring budgetary compliance for the Service Line's activities. 5. Plan, organize, implement and evaluate the delivery of patient care by empowering staff, coordinating activities between operating departments and by promoting patient satisfaction. 6. Select, hire, manage and evaluate the performance and effectiveness of employees and facilitate the professional development of all staff to ensure clinical practice competence. 7. Establish annual and long-term service line quality, service, and financial goals 8. Maintains collaborative working relations with key physician and hospital leaders throughout WVUHS, University Health Associates (UHA) and West Virginia University's School of Medicine. 9. Assists Service Line Leadership with the development and implementation of Outreach and Marketing strategies, including, referral relations, community outreach, CME offerings, advertising programs etc. 10. Represents WVU Medicine within the hospital and community through presentation and education activities. 11. Responsible for management of clinic space including but not limited to ensuring optimizing room utilization, patient safety and capital/equipment maintenance and budgeting. 12. Oversees the Clinical scheduling functions as it relates to Faculty, Staff and patients. Responsible for internal Call Center or department's use of the centralized Call Center in support of clinic operations. 13. Assists with the department's Medical Staff Credentialing and UHA Provider Enrollment processes. 14. Responsible for internal computer system used for monitoring and tracking various projects and financial information 15. Communicates and enforces UHA, WVU School of Medicine, and WVUH corporate goals, decisions and operating guidelines to support staff. Facilitates internal and external communications for the department. 16. Serves as advisor to the Executive Financial Officer of the Practice in establishing fiscal priorities and developing appropriate financial strategies to assure departmental growth and attainment of established short term and long-range goals. 17. Assists evaluating the impact of department's charge/receipts on budget. Prepares budget projections and provides to Leadership. 18. Monitors billing and reimbursement activity, analyzing the data pertaining, but not limited to billing practices, billing and diagnostic codes and payor mix, to assure optimal revenue is being obtained from services rendered and in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
