Description

Summary: Responsible for all tower related functions in the Tower Construction department at Day Wireless Systems (e.g. tower builds, tower deconstructs, hanging of antennas and dishes on towers, site build outs, hanging cables on towers, grounding tower and buildings)

Supervisory Responsibilities: May supervise Tower Technicians and Tower Technician Apprentices. Back up supervisor to the Tower Construction Manager.

Essential Functions:



  • Plan schedule (crew schedule, customer contact, site access, contact subcontractor, inform supervisor, order parts)
  • Climb towers to install antennas, dishes, cables, and stand-offs on towers. Build and deconstruct towers.


  • Perform installation, inspection and maintenance services for wireless radio and antenna systems on towers, rooftops and other elevated structures in conjunction with the Tower Construction Manager and Tower Technician


  • Dig trenches for grounding tower and building to R56 standards, driving ground roots and cad welding


  • Perform ground-based civil scopes when applicable in support of radio systems cabling, grounding, interconnects and/or conduits


  • Update time tickets daily.
  • Perform tasks of Tower Technician as needed and lead by example to facilitate timely job completion.
  • Open and able to travel +/- 75% of the time may be necessary


Experience:



  • Able to work calmly in extreme heights.
  • 3 + years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Use hand and power tools proficiently.
  • Follow directions well and give directions clearly.
  • Authorized Climber & Competent Climber/Rescue certification from an accredited group is a plus.
  • OSHA Construction 10 HR Safety Training program, or possess an OSHA 10-Hour Safety Card, as well as First Aid and CPR certification would be a plus.
  • Be able to pass a DOT physical and Urinalysis
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
  • Utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.



Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus a minimum of 4 to 6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses, Certifications: Driver's License is a must
