Overview
Astrion is seeking a Integrated Fires Directorate (IF-D) Staff Actions Control Officer (SACO) Manager in Huntsville, Alabama. This individual would need to be highly organized and detail-oriented to manage the assignment, tracking, and configuration control of all Staff Actions Control Officer (SACO) tasks for Program Executive Office - Missiles and Space, Integrated Fires Directorate. This role involves managing dozens of internal and external daily tasks, ensuring timely and accurate processing of actions originating from high-level entities such as Congress, the Secretary of Defense (SECDEF), Combatant Commanders (COCOM), and other relevant agencies. Qualifications:
- Must have an active Secret security clearance and maintain said clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Management, Political Science) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3-10 years of experience in a Staff Action Control Officer or similar role, preferably within the Department of Defense.
- Demonstrated experience managing a high volume of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of the DoD's tasking process, including the use of official correspondence and communication channels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Teams as a collaborative environment
- Experience with task management software and electronic document management systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to work on-site at Redstone Arsenal
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working with air and missile defense systems and technologies.
- Familiarity with Federal workflow procedures.
- Experience working in an Army Program Executive Office
- SCI Clearance
Responsibilities:
- Manage the full lifecycle of SACO actions from receipt to completion, ensuring all deadlines are met and actions are properly documented.
- Maintain a comprehensive tracking system for all incoming and outgoing tasks, providing regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Analyze incoming tasks, identify relevant stakeholders, and assign actions to appropriate team members based on expertise and workload.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across various levels of the organization.
- Assists IF-D leadership in carrying out duties as directed and ensures their guidance and priorities are reflected in all staff actions performed within the organization.
- Coordinates to obtain leadership guidance relevant to the dissemination of organization actions, policy, and resources.
- Produces final format products that are clear, concise, complete and accurate, to include but not limited to e-mail correspondence; fact sheets; information papers; memorandums; executive summaries; military briefs; comment resolution matrices and policies.
- Responds to inquiries from staff elements on a variety of subjects, such as status of suspense and requests for extensions.
- Supports the day-to-day administrative and managerial operations of IF-D
- Responsible for providing training and instruction for new personnel concerning internal staff action standard operating procedures and terminology, as well as preparation, content and assembly of staff actions.
- Duties include preparing the weekly Program Status Report and Staff Call charts.
- Program Status Report requires adhering to schedule/suspenses/battle rhythm, querying subject matter experts and assembling their inputs and editing for grammar, clarity. Familiarity with Army Regulation 25-50
- Staff Call charts requires coordinating input from all functional areas and adhering to schedules
- Document Staffing requires working knowledge of AR 25-50, grammar, punctuation, proofreading skills, familiarity with the PEO's tracking system EDOCTS, communication skills.
