Job Summary

Essential Functions

• Leads the budget process for the facility, to include establishing the timing, methods and process for the budget. Establishes controls and processes that ensures the integrity of the budget. Directs or prepares revenue budget for the facility, including gross revenues, contractual and bad debts/charity. Quantifies and budgets revenue enhancement and cost reduction opportunities. Assists the facility CEO and leadership team in identifying financial improvement opportunities.

• Works collaboratively with facility department leaders to help improve financial performance, including improved labor productivity, cost management, revenue capture, denials reduction, and other areas.

• Under the direction of the Facility CEO and Market VP of Finance prepares proformas or financial analyses to meet facility and organization decision making needs.

• Assists the CEO in the development of long- and short-range operational plans which may include service demand analysis, resources availability analysis, productivity and cost benefit analysis of proposed capital, service and staff expansions.

• Directs the facility capital process, including the capital request and approval process, tracking and reporting of capital dollars, and preparation of proformas and other financial analyses as directed. Staffs the site capital committee.

• Prepares presentations, reports and other information for the executive team as requested. May present financial information at management team meetings.

• Serves as a resource/liaison to facility or service line leadership, corporate finance staff (general accounting and reimbursement, etc.) as well as departments and functions that directly affect financial performance to include revenue cycle (including managed care), health information management, system logistics, and information technology.

• Maintain financial reporting systems as required by EVP CFO for consistency in reporting across the health system.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of team members that may include final budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility and disciplinary authority. Job will be considered a member of management staff at Prisma Health or affiliate and will have direct reports.

Minimum Requirements

• Education - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field of study. Master's degree preferred.

• Experience - Five (5) years financial operations experience overseeing financial operations. Hospital or healthcare experience preferred. Three (3) years of financial leadership experience preferred.

• Ability to explain complex financial information in ways non-financial people can understand and relate.
