Sr Manager, Data Programs & Initiatives - Global Data Organization

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Sr Manager, Data Programs & Initiativesto support and drive the initiatives of our Global Data Organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Data Officer (CDO), the Program Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple data-related programs and projects.

The role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing project timelines, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and driving continuous improvement within our data operations and strategic data initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading complex data-driven initiatives, including analytics, governance, data quality, integration, and technology implementation projects.
  • Facilitating cross-functional collaboration with Supply Chain Operations, Sales, IT, Compliance, Finance, and other stakeholders to align data programs with organizational objectives.
  • Managing program timelines, resources, and risks, ensuring successful and timely delivery of strategic projects.
  • Providing clear communication and reporting on program status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Driving continuous improvement and innovation within the Data Team through adoption of best practices, methodologies, and process improvements.

Program Leadership & Management

  • Develop, manage, and track comprehensive project plans and strategic roadmaps to ensure successful delivery of key data initiatives.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent projects across data analytics, governance, integration, quality, and technology implementation.
  • Facilitate and lead regular program governance meetings, effectively communicating status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders and executives.

Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Act as a central point of communication and collaboration between the Data Team and other departments such as Supply Chain Operations, IT, Compliance, Finance, and Business Analytics.
  • Partner closely with the CDO and other team leaders to ensure alignment of program goals and objectives with organizational strategy.
  • Engage stakeholders proactively to define requirements, manage expectations, and drive buy-in and support data initiatives.

Resources & Risk Management:

  • Allocate internal and external resources effectively to meet program objectives, deadlines, and quality standards.
  • Identify, track, and mitigate program risks, issues, and dependencies, developing contingency plans to maintain program momentum.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, data privacy guidelines, and internal policies.

Reporting & Performance Metrics:

  • Establish and manage KPIs and success metrics to measure and communicate the impact, effectiveness, and value of data programs.
  • Provide regular, detailed reports and presentations to senior management, clearly articulating program status, results, and strategic recommendations.

Process Improvement & Innovation:

  • Continuously evaluate existing program management processes and identify opportunities for efficiency and best practices.
  • Drive adoption of Agile methodologies, project management tools, and modern program management frameworks within the data team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Systems, Healthcare Management, or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive experience in program/project management, preferably within healthcare, distribution/logistics, technology, or data-driven organizations.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, cross-functional projects in data, analytics, IT, or digital transformation contexts.
  • Certification in project management methodologies such as PMP, PgMP, Agile (Scrum Master/Product Owner), Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, data-focused programs using modern program management software tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Monday.com, Asana, or equivalent.
  • Program/Project Management Expertise: Strong background in managing complex programs/projects end-to-end with proven ability of using modern program management software tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Monday.com, Asana, Planview, Wrinke, or equivalent.
  • Data Literacy & Technical Aptitude: Comfort with data governance frameworks, data analytics projects, and understanding of data management principles (data quality, data privacy, data architecture, business intelligence, analytics, etc.).
  • Strategic Communication & Influencing: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills (PowerPoint); able to clearly communicate complex ideas to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Organizational & Analytical Skills: Excellent organizational skills, including project planning, scheduling, tracking, and analysis. Ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks.
  • Problem-solving & Decision-making: Capable of identifying and addressing issues proactively with creativity, agility, and sound judgment.
  • Experience working within healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical distribution, supply chain, or similarly regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards, compliance requirements (HIPAA, GDPR), and regulatory landscape.
  • Prior direct experience interacting with executive stakeholders, including Chief Data Officers, CIOs, or similar C-suite leaders.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 10 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience; 3 or more years of management experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.

The posted range for this position is $112,003 - $175,005 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including education, prior experience, training, current skills, certifications, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.

At the time of this posting, this position is eligible for a bonus not reflected in the posted range subject to the achievement of the plan.
