RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gain an understanding of all areas within the maintenance department by spending time in each area of the production floor.
- Perform preventative maintenance, general repairs, troubleshooting, and installations.
- Work on items such as motors, belts, drives, pumps, pressure gauges, robotics, circuit boards, relays, fuses, controllers, PLCs, Industrial Networking Equipment, etc.
- Participate in new hire orientation and departmental overviews of the plant and support operations that work with the plant to improve product efficiencies and yields.
- Gain knowledge of all production areas throughout our pork processing plant in which product is produced
- Develop a collaborative relationship with all departments

- Currently has or is obtaining a Bachelor's degree from a four-year university or college, an Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related fields of study include industrial engineering, ag systems & technology, technical certificates or degrees in electrical, IT, or other technical fields, or other related fields or experience.
- Mechanical and/or Electrical aptitude and general understanding of conveyors, electrical motors, control systems, calipers, pneumatics and air cylinders, air compressors, plumbing, and more.
- Having general mechanical aptitude with some knowledge in one or more of the following areas: electrical, industrial networking, PLCs and troubleshooting.
- Strong sense of urgency and works well in a fast-paced environment.
- Good critical thinking and judgement skills to reach the best possible solution to a problem.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of people such as employees, managers, and senior management.
- Stand for extended periods of time -- typically 8-10 hours a day.

- The schedule will be on 1st shift, days may vary based on business needs.

- The environment is hot, humid and odorous, with temperatures above 100F in the harvest area. The environment is cold and wet, with temperatures ranging from 28-48F in the cut/conversion area. There is frequent exposure to hog blood. The noise level is loud.
