Logistics and Warehouse Specialist (2015)

This position provides logistics analysis by applying established policies and procedures in accordance with company and contract guidelines. In addition, this position will provide a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's building configuration and will support the service operations with workspace modifications and equipment repairs. Furthermore, this position will act as the primary backup for mailroom operations.

Warehouse and Workspace Support

  • Verify materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents - note and report discrepancies and obvious damages
  • Store, stack, or palletize materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage, and preparing it for shipment.
  • Receive all property shipments, including unloading the equipment from the shippers' trucks and delivering it to the specified location within the building
  • Assemble, pick up and deliver new equipment to end users, make minor repairs to existing furniture, and transport/re-locate furniture, records or other equipment within the building in conjunction with minor individual office relocations, or to nearby offices, depots, warehouses or hotels in conjunction with meeting preparations, or records or property transport or disposition
  • Operates any material handling equipment safely and efficiently as required
  • Transport records for the EPA to the National Archives facility on a weekly basis.
  • Transport EPA property and materials between the Seattle office and the warehouse
  • Provide support and assist with the modification of modular workspaces as needed.
  • Provide support and reconfiguration assistance with ensuring that conference rooms are adequately equipped and configured and reconfigured daily as needed.
  • Provide support for approximately 16 Multi-Functional Device (MFD) Copiers located in the Seattle EPA space.
  • Maintain a record of all breakdowns, including system downtime
  • Deliver copier materials as needed to approximately 48+ machines

Other

  • Support and assist in the coordination of GSA/GFE vehicles in the motor pool as needed by making sure they are ready for use, refueling, and cleaning as directed.
  • Act as the primary backup/additional support for the Mail Clerk as needed.
  • Must perform other duties as assigned at the discretion of management

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Experience

  • Experience working in a warehouse environment, coordinating and handling the shipping and receiving of deliverable inventory
  • Considerable knowledge of basic warehouse and inventory processes and procedures is desired
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite and computer competencies are required

License, Cert, or Registration

  • Current driver's license
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship
  • The ability to pass a national agency check for access to various Government facilities.

Special knowledge, skills, & abilities

  • Effective multitasking and the ability to meet deliverable reports with high-quality work
  • Considerable knowledge of basic and power hand tools for building and installing various equipment.
