Join us as our new Maintenance Coordinator

The Maintenance Coordinator is a multifaceted role that improves workforce productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and execution of maintenance activities. This position combines the responsibilities of maintenance planning, inventory management, and mechanical repair to ensure high equipment availability and performance.

In this role you'll make an impact by:

  • Enhancing workforce productivity by planning and coordinating labor, parts, materials, and equipment access by coordinating with internal resources and contractors.

  • Managing work priorities, develop job plans, define parts and materials, and engage proper resources for effective work plans.

  • Acting as principal contact between the Maintenance department, Operations, and contractors to ensure timely service delivery.

  • Reviewing and validating work requests; determining clear scope of work, completion dates, and resource allocation.

  • Monitoring work order status from submission to completion and manage backlogs, especially those requiring shutdowns.

  • Providing technical guidance on improving Preventive Maintenance activities and schedules.

Inventory Management

  • Maintaining and overseeing all activities related to ordering, receiving, storing, and distributing maintenance materials and supplies.

  • Using CMMS and SAP systems to optimize spare parts inventory, minimize costs, and maximize service levels.

  • Developing and maintaining an efficient storage system; organize and rotate stock to optimize space utilization.

  • Processing invoices via SAP, ensuring accurate posting to received orders and generating inventory-related reports, maintain purchasing records, and spare parts technical data.

  • Acquiring parts from vendors as needed using the company truck, ensuring timely availability of required materials.

Mechanical Maintenance

  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing production equipment and machinery to ensure optimum operation.

  • Implementing preventive maintenance systems, procedures, and methods.

  • Assisting in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing all building facilities and systems, including lighting, HVAC, steam, compressed air, hot and cold water, production waste water, and electrical.

  • Participating in the training of lower-level mechanics and assist in maintaining company maintenance policies.

  • Assisting in the implementation of company maintenance policies and training, maintains all necessary licenses and certifications.

  • Completing all required computer logs and paperwork accurately and on time.

  • Collaborating with Engineering teams to enhance reliability and efficiency of production equipment.

To succeed you must hold:

  • Understanding of maintenance processes, work order systems, and storeroom processes.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in CMMS and SAP for accurate data management in parts and equipment.

  • Strong mechanical/electrical background; technical school or apprenticeship preferred.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate instructions clearly in English.

  • Proven organizational and time-management skills.

Working Conditions

  • Work is divided between and office setting and the shop floor with around 50% of the time spent in each environment.

  • Regular entry into production facilities requiring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hair nets, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.

  • Exposure to wet, humid, dusty, or loud conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.

  • Frequent standing, walking, talking, and hearing.

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 100 lbs (assisted).

  • Frequent use of hands to handle or touch objects, tools, or controls.

  • Specific vision abilities required, including depth perception and focus adjustment.
