General Description: An OU Health Registered Nurse (RN) III works under general supervision and provides nursing care in a hospital setting to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. They are a critical link within their department in maintaining and modeling nursing practice standards and upholding the nursing code of ethics to ensure the highest quality of safe, patient care. RN III is the proficient nurse advancing to expert. This nurse has an intuitive grasp of complex variables that impact quality care on a larger scale and level. They have an ability to see the "whole" to mobilize resources when needed. There is focus on patient outcomes and use of evidence-based practice, innovation and creativity when solving problems.
