Bonus Options: up to $20,000 ( Two year commitment and paid out every 90 days )

Location: St.Joseph Medical Center- Kansas City, MO

An emergency room nurse plays a crucial role in delivering acute care quickly and efficiently. They assess incoming patients to prioritize based on the severity of conditions, administer medications, and perform advanced life support interventions as needed. ER nurses collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans. They are responsible for monitoring vital signs, managing wound care, drawing blood for lab tests, and ensuring accurate documentation of all treatments provided. With strong communication skills, they educate patients and families about care and follow-up procedures, maintaining a calm, reassuring presence in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Deliver high-quality care to patients with varying levels of illness and injury.
  • Triage and assess patient needs quickly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Educate patients and families on care plans and next steps.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

1. Current and valid state RN License.
2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
4. Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
5. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
6. Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.
7. Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):

1. In Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
2. EDAP certified facilities: Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
3. Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required.
