Direct Labor - Production Associate-DGM Assembly

OVERVIEW

Our holsters division is a premier designer and innovator of safety holsters and other duty gear, as well as a manufacturer of components and finished products for holsters and firearm accessories. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Holster Assembler to join our team. A holster assembler performs repetitive bench or line assembly operations to mass-produce products. Safariland holster assmbler associates work efficiently and safely, while maintaining target range on the following KPI's: discrepancies, accidents, desired ship dates, and inventory cycle counts.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Place parts in specified relationship to each other
  • Clip or otherwise fasten parts together
  • Work at different work stations as production needs require
  • Assemble products for stock as needed
  • Assist in Quality Control in production
  • Work on line where tasks vary as different model of same article moves along line
  • Verify sales order to assembled parts and/or finished product
  • Adhere product logos and serial numbers on products properly
  • Observe all safety regulations and procedures of the facility
  • Help in keeping production area clean and organized
  • Participate in kaizen activities to achieve productivity and quality improvements
  • Train associates as required
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Notify supervisor of non-conforming product.
  • Notify supervisor of unsafe equipment or work practices


QUALIFICATIONS



  • Three (3) months to one (1) year related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • No college degree is required for this position but would be helpful in the advancement opportunity
  • General knowledge in the use of hand tools and shop operations
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Must work well with others and have the ability to be a team member
  • Ability to accept direction from a peer
  • Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Utilize hand and finger dexterity.
