Department:Library Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties:The University of Arkansas - Pulaski Technical College invites applications for the position of Outreach Librarian. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality reference services, enhancing community engagement, and supporting student learning and success through outreach, instruction, and resource development. General Responsibilities: Provide individual assistance to patrons both in-person and online. Staff the reference desk and help coordinate reference desk schedules, procedures, and service quality. Maintain and update online and print research guides and instructional materials to improve access to library resources. Lead outreach initiatives including library displays, campus events, flyers, and social media engagement. Provide assistance for interlibrary loan services. Provide information literacy instruction and professional development through classes and workshops. Participate in collection development and cataloging of library resources. Serve as a liaison to assigned academic departments, supporting faculty and participating in the embedded librarian program as needed. Engage in college-wide committees, special projects, and task forces. Evening hours and travel to other UA-PTC locations may be required. Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned. Qualifications: Required Qualifications:* Master's degree in Library Science (MLS) or equivalent from an ALA-accredited institution. At least one year of professional experience providing reference services. Engaging written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups including students, faculty, and staff. The ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently. Commitment to customer service and a passion for librarianship. Additional Qualifications: Proficiency with technologies, including integrated library systems (ILS), LibGuides, Canva, and AI tools such as ChatGPT. Knowledge of trends and best practices in academic librarianship and outreach.
