The Opportunity

We are excited to have the opportunity to hire a Senior AEM Customer Engineer to advance our efforts in building software that generates value for our customers, guided by real usage and author-centric simplicity.

  • The Customer Engineer will act as an authoritative technical voice possessing deep expertise with AEM key architectural concepts, responsible for developing the future of the product through co-innovation.

  • Through direct customer interactions and co-innovation, you will find opportunities where AEM's latest offerings and early-access features can advance our customer's value realization.

  • Demonstrating your strong customer leadership experience and hands-on AEM implementation expertise, you will work with our most strategic customers to solve sophisticated business needs, build production quality project-level innovations for needs not-yet-met by the product. Once usage has been validated, you will bring those solutions into the core product.

  • You will promote our solutions and guide customers to success while also building software, solving sophisticated customer problems, and making our solutions as bullet-proof and as self-service as possible.

What you'll Do

  • Engage directly with strategic customers, partnering with both business owners and practitioners to understand their needs, related friction points, and optimization opportunities from the customers' perspective.

  • Collaborate with customers and partners to uncover business needs not yet met by our current product, and address those needs via production quality innovation that will result in productization once usage is confirmed.

  • Find opportunities for optimization in value generation across customer websites and collaborate with customer teams to suggest and implement improvements that will drive increased business value outcomes.

  • Engage with and communicate recommendations to executive and senior client leadership teams.

  • Collaborate across functional and product area boundaries to bring the best of Adobe to the customer. Create and share knowledge to scale expertise across the AEM community both internally and externally.

  • Closely collaborate with team members to take on sophisticated problems and strive to build innovative tools and software to increase efficiency and time to value.

  • Know the latest emerging AEM technologies, new features, and early access releases. Demonstrating your direct customer experiences, evaluate and identify practical applications of these innovations for their specific use cases and develop technical proof-of-concepts to validate solutions and demonstrate business value.

  • Work in an agile development environment driven by customer influences and balancing corporate vision.

What you need to succeed

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field along with 10+ years of proven experience

  • Confirmed expertise in architecting and delivering sophisticated Adobe Experience Cloud implementations for enterprise customers, with specific experience with Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service(AEMaaCS).

  • Obsession with delivering outstanding customer experiences and a keen eye for excellence and simplicity.

  • Strong innovation mentality and track record of driving creative solutions to increase customer success and value realization

  • Ability to spot industry trends. Ability to evaluate driven and complementary technologies and the flexibility to incorporate external innovations into Adobe's products.

  • Ability to communicate technical and business strategy to audiences of varying levels of experience, background, and seniority.

  • Consistent track record of influencing executive partners to drive strategy & alignment.

  • Versatile in pursuing new and evolving technological challenges.

  • Strong programming skills, particularly with Java and underlying frameworks such as Apache Felix OSGi, Apache Oak, Apache Lucene, Apache Sling and REST APIs

  • Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic and Splunk

  • Familiarity with Microservices architecture and using Node JS for development

  • Familiarity with Containerization and Orchestration

  • The ideal candidate will have Edge Delivery Services implementation experience

  • Experience with open-source tools and frameworks including Git, Jenkins, Maven, Junit, webpack, jQuery and GraphQL

  • Proficiency with JIRA

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $153,600 -- $286,600 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
