Responsibilities:

• Responsible to contact insurance companies for overpayments and recoupment or underpayments within 30 days of discovery.
• Responsible for follow-up on denied claims for assigned payor(s)/funder(s). Follow up for unpaid claims within 90 days of original bill date. Billing notes are required to be maintained.
• Prepare and submit accurate accounting information related to monies received via direct deposit and paper checks for insurance funding sources. Keeps all billing logs updated and accurate.
• Address client concerns regarding balances and payments including answering incoming client calls as assigned.
• Assist with updating accounts with daily receipts of insurance cards/portals and financial audits related to billing.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years experience in Medical or Behavioral Billing or a related field is preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, coding, credentialing, AR/Follow up experience is vital
• Experience with Insurance follow-up and management for Medicaid, Medicare and commercial insurance preferred
• Microsoft Suite experience required
• Position requires occasional driving of own vehicle. Valid driver's license and vehicle may be required
