Site Reliability Engineer III

The Site Reliability Engineer III is primarily responsible for designing, building and maintaining efficient large-scale systems. Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is an engineering discipline that combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems. The SRE III ensures that applications have reliability and the appropriate uptime for users' needs with a fast rate of improvement. Maintain application capacity and performance.

• You will design, develop, test, and deploy applications and services while identifying and improving operational processes.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance monitoring tools and understand complex data and security flows.
• You will perform job scheduling tasks, including writing, reading, and troubleshooting job plans.
• You will triage and resolve technical escalations, develop scripts and stored procedures, and support live deployments.
• You will analyze real-time data, advise stakeholders on issues, and apply RDBMS principles in designing data structures.
• You will apply architectural governance, manage technology assets, and follow IT and SOA standards.
• You will utilize Agile, Scrum, and Kanban methodologies to organize and execute project tasks with moderate supervision.

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Technology/Science, or a related field and 8+ years of experience in MIS or equivalent related field or 15 years of work-related experience.

• Proficient in Java, Python, Linux, scripting
• Experience with cloud compute technologies, network monitoring, data processing and analytics, kubernete architecture and deployment and / or terraform infrastructure strategies.
• Experience with datacenter monitoring, service-oriented systems, micro-services
• Experience with networking monitoring, networking protocols, SNMP, syslog, network telemetry, REST API
• Experience with Scrum & Agile Methodologies working knowledge of simple to moderate job scheduling systems and how to create job schedules
• Proficient in Software Integration Systems e.g., MuleSoft, SSIS, etc.
• Experience with technical infrastructure principles e.g., Windows Server, UNIX, Tomcat, IIS. RDBMS principals, Microsoft SQL. Experience driving applications and infrastructure upgrades.
• Knowledge of Quality/Testing Methodologies
• Experience with disaster recovery application
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
• Experience in system architecture
• Experience with automation pipelines
• Experience with CI/CD

Preferred Experience:

* System Design and Architecture: Collaborate with software engineers and architects to design and implement scalable and reliable systems.
* Monitoring and Incident Response: Develop and maintain monitoring tools and dashboards to ensure system health and performance. Respond to incidents and outages, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
* Automation and Scripting: Create and maintain automation scripts to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
* Performance Optimization: Analyze system performance and identify bottlenecks. Implement solutions to improve efficiency and reduce latency.
* Capacity Planning: Forecast system capacity needs and plan for future growth. Ensure systems can handle increased load and traffic.
* Security and Compliance: Ensure systems adhere to security best practices and regulatory requirements. Implement security measures to protect sensitive data.
* Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system architecture, configurations, and procedures.
* Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of new features and updates.
