Coulter Foundation Endowed Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at FIU invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level to begin as early as December 2025. We are seeking highly qualified individuals with expertise and a proven research track record in methods for neuroimaging data analysis. The ideal individuals will augment the department's current strengths and fortify collaborative ties with other colleges within FIU.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related science or engineering field. Qualified applicants are expected to have demonstrated research excellence through academic postdoctoral research or equivalent non-academic experience. Translational success will be considered an asset. Candidates must have a commitment to teaching excellence at both the graduate and the undergraduate levels and be qualified to develop and teach courses in neural engineering. The new faculty will be expected to develop and sustain an inclusive high-quality collaborative research program.

The department offers BS (ABET accredited), MS, BS/MS, and PhD degrees in Biomedical Engineering. It has over 380 undergraduate and more than 70 graduate students (49 fully funded PhD students and 35 self-supported MS students). BME faculty are actively engaged in joint curriculum development and collaborative research with the Robert Stempel College of Public Health & Social Work, the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, and the College of Arts and Sciences.
