Main Duties & Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY: Washes, cleans and
dries production from all product lines. Maintains strength of cleaning
solutions and drains and changes solutions as necessary. Transports parts to
and from various locations in the departments. Operates various types of
equipment to complete chemical processing operations.

DESCRIPTION
OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

With
moderate supervision and review performs the following:

1. Learn to identify material and processes to be performed from job order or other written instructions.

2. Responsible for performing cleaning and surface preparation processes to prepare parts for further machining or surface finishing. Responsible for meeting employee efficiency levels for the various processes.

3. Maintains fluid levels for chemical plating, lubrication, and cleaning baths. Makes appropriate chemical adjustments per addition instructions to maintain proper solution mix.

4. Operates auxiliary equipment pertaining to chemical processing plating operations such as overhead crane, parts washer, tumble barrel, salt cleaner, centrifugal dryer etc.

5. Responsible for daily routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.

6. Clean work area daily.

7. Learn waste streams from the various processes and requirements pertaining to them.

8. Maintains transport pans and transports parts to and from various locations in the department. Keeps loading areas clean and safe. Ensures that containers are sturdy and effective.

9. Works as an active team member by participating in problem solving, team building, and all other team activities to improve the processes, productivity, quality, etc. of departmental operations. Uses interpersonal skills as well as good written and verbal communications. Assists other team members as required.

Equipment / Process Responsibilities - Operates chemical
processing equipment and maintains basic solution mixes. Ensures calibration
stickers are current and solution parameters such as tank level and temperature
are compliant to the work instructions. Performs safety checklist and equipment
maintenance activities as required. Cleans the area and equipment daily.

Material or Product Responsibilities -
Performs duties that require close attention to work
instructions and process controls. Responsible for quality and condition of
parts upon completion of the process performed.

Responsibility for Work of Others -
Accuracy of communication is necessary for the successful processing
of materials and parts. Must communicate to appropriate personnel any problems
or concerns regarding quality of work received or time flow of work in progress
as it affects production schedules. Works primarily with co -workers, lead
person, and supervisor in the department.

Safety Responsibilities -
Within general work area and for the safety of self and co-workers
in major portion of the shop, good housekeeping is required. Knowledge of
chemical safety and adherence to company safety rules is mandatory.

Initiative and Ingenuity -
Work is performed under direct supervision and requires
little initiative or ingenuity. Supervisor or Lead person directs tasks to
assure efficiency of workflow. Takes on or reports for additional work as
current tasks are completed. Performs other work-related tasks as deemed
necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Environmental Surroundings - Work is in a machine
shop environment with congested spaces at times and exposure to noise,
temperature fluctuations, chemicals, and repetitive tasks.

Unavoidable Hazards - Possible hazards related to cuts, bruises,
finger and hand injuries, muscle strains, burns, chemical exposure, noxious
fumes, and nasal and eye irritation. Protective equipment and clothing
appropriate to the task at hand is required.

Physical - Able to lift up to 50 pounds. Requires hand and finger
manipulation to use precision measuring instruments. Able to use all tools
required for chemical processingin the department.
Some job assignments require maneuvering to different lines in the plating area,
and support locations. Most assignments necessitate continuous standing for the
majority of the workday.

Mental - Work at times is highly repetitive and monotonous. Able to
follow instructions and maintain an efficient workflow under direct supervision
or frequent review. Able to calculate basic fractions for measuring chemicals
for additions

Visual - Close attention to detail with moderate eye concentration.
Must be able to visually check parts for quality. Requires close vision, color
vision, peripheral vision, distance vision and depth perception.

Qualifications

EDUCATION / TRAINING
Demonstrated ability to read and write English of a level required in company shop documents and computer software entry and processing requirements. Must be capable of applying mathematical operations including the use of fractions and decimals to exacting tolerances (.0001) as required by chemical processing procedures.

EXPERIENCE
This is an entry-level position where no experience is required. Skills and knowledge in chemical processing and the use of tools and equipment such as overhead crane, parts washer, tumble barrel, salt cleaner, centrifugal dryer etc.is beneficial.

Compensation

In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $18.08 to $22.52.

Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses. Further details will be provided by our recruiting team during the interview process.
