Position Summary |
The Assistant Director plays a vital role within Accessibility and Testing, reporting to the Associate Director for Accommodations. The Assistant Director oversees the accommodation database, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in managing accommodations. This role coordinates academic support services, facilitates communication with faculty, staff, and students, and ensures seamless accommodation implementation.
Additionally, the Assistant Director supervises one Senior Accommodations Coordinator, provides guidance on complex accommodation matters, and serves as the primary contact for student access concerns. This position collaborates with Housing and Paratransit services to ensure equitable access and accommodation services across campus. |

Manage a caseload of students with primarily physical and complex health conditions.
- Manage a caseload of students with complex disabilities, ensuring the provision of appropriate and effective academic accommodations.
- Conduct student meetings to review disability-related documentation, assess needs, and determine reasonable accommodations that support academic success.
- Maintain timely, accurate case notes and documentation to ensure compliance and continuity of support.
- Collaborate with UGA faculty and staff to facilitate accommodation implementation and address student needs.
- Assist in reviewing intake documentation as requested by the Coordinator for Intake, ensuring thorough and consistent evaluation of student eligibility for accommodations.

Leadership and Staff Supervision
- Serve as a member of the Accessibility and Testing Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning, policy development, and departmental initiatives while acting as a key decision-maker in the absence of the Associate Directors or Director.
- Supervise one Senior Accommodations Coordinator, providing leadership in case management, professional development, and performance feedback. Actively promote and participate in the development, retention & engagement of each staff member.
- Develop and implement department-wide policies and procedures to ensure consistency and best practices in accessibility services.
- Oversee budgets for supervised areas and contribute to long-term strategic planning.
- Provide guidance on complex accessibility matters and serve as the primary contact for University Housing and Paratransit services, ensuring student access and accommodations are communicated and implemented effectively.
- Represent Accessibility and Testing and the University of Georgia at campus, state, and national levels, strengthening the institution's leadership in disability services.
