Job Summary

Midland Asphalt Materials Inc, a subsidiary of Barrett Industries, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers' needs. We are currently looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to manage the recruitment, payroll, benefits administration, and maintaining compliance with relevant employment laws. This is a crucial role in managing human resources functions to ensure a smooth operation of our organization. This is an hourly hybrid position, working remotely and in the office with travel required. The pay for this position ranges from $25-$30 an hour.

Main Responsibilities
  • Post jobs to appropriate job boards, trade schools, LinkedIn, social media and internal ATS
  • Source and recruit candidates through career fairs, social media, and trade schools
  • Collaborate with other HR team members on recruitment and retention strategies
  • Business partner to hiring managers, fully understanding their needs and timelines
  • Phone screen applicants and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
  • Maintain electronic personnel files
  • Main point of contact for HR related questions
  • Complete payroll tasks as needed and serve as payroll backup
  • Assist with creation of employee newsletter
  • Other administrative tasks to assist the overall HR function
  • Visit job sites and facilities during the construction season
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Degree in Human Resources or related field required
  • 1-2 years of experience preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Must be able to travel throughout NYS and PA, including some overnights
  • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills, and be detail oriented
  • Willing to have fun at work and creativity a plus
