Job Summary:
A Structural Welder is responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and frameworks, primarily using welding techniques. This role involves interpreting blueprints, preparing materials, and ensuring the strength and integrity of the welds in accordance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding procedures.
  • Weld structural components using various welding processes (e.g., MIG, FCAW).
  • Fabricate, position, align, and fit parts of structural metal products.
  • Operate cutting torches, grinders, and other metalworking tools.
  • Inspect and test welds for structural integrity using visual and mechanical methods.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Repair and maintain structural components as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other trades as required.


Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED; trade school or welding certification preferred.
  • Proven experience as a structural welder (typically 2+ years).
  • Proficiency in multiple welding techniques and tools.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • OSHA certification or knowledge of safety standards is a plus.
