Job Summary

The Quality Inspector for Saunders Manufacturing oversees quality processes and procedures and performs manufactured product inspections as required. Specific areas of focus include working with engineering, sales, and production to achieve continuous improvement and ensure product quality. This role is expected to adhere to all company policies and safety protocols.

Core Responsibilities Required to be Successful as a Saunders Quality Inspector



  • Implement and uphold stringent quality assurance processes and procedures to drive continuous improvement and maintain compliance with general and industry specific quality standards (e.g., ISO9001, AS9100, AS9120, 13485).
  • Generate detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of measurement results.
  • Conduct FMEA studies as needed; generate PPAP's.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and other personnel to tackle procedural and quality issues that are related to the production and delivery of good quality products.
  • Assist with the evaluation of defective materials received from vendors and communicate feedback as needed.
  • Leads production data collection activities for KPI's, including related concepts such as 5s, visual systems, and other ISO related needs.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as needed to demonstrate compliance with established quality standards of manufacturing processing, standard auditing procedures, and statistical process control.
  • Represent organization as a point of contact for special projects, providing guidance to ensure customer satisfaction and quality claim resolutions.
  • Document non-conformances thoroughly in accordance with our ERP system.
  • Build a deep understanding of the full manufacturing process cycle, from incoming raw material to packaging and delivery standards.
  • Periodic review/audit of work practices comparative to documented procedures and reports to supervisor deviations.
  • Supports development of training methods and implements new procedures and processes.
  • Contribute to enhancing quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications



  • High School Degree or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelor's degree in a technical field highly preferred.
  • 2-5 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing operation (parts inspection, process improvement) required.
  • Knowledge of general Quality Standards (ISO 9001) and industry specific quality standards (e.g., AS9100, AS9120, 13485).

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Experience working with an ERP system, inventory management software, or similar tools.
  • Proficient with application of Data analysis concepts/ practices (Shelf-life calculations, UOM conversions, etc.).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods during physical inventory counts.


Target Base Compensation range for this non-exempt role is $23.00 - $25.00/ hr. DOE.

This is a Full-Time position, eligible to participate in the Company's benefit plans including: Paid Time off; major medical, dental, vision; Company paid short-term and long-term disability; paid parental leave; various supplemental benefit plans; and Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP).
