The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base hourly pay range: $21.00 - $32.00 per hour

Palisades Tahoe is seeking a driven, detail oriented progressional for a dual function role that will evolve over time. This full-time position begins with a focus on revenue assurance, cash controls, and daily audit oversight, as well as financial analysis. This role will be ideal for someone looking to build a well-rounded accounting and finance background within resort operations.

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following: other duties may be assigned:
  • Oversee daily operations of two resort cash offices and revenue audit. Includes training and scheduling employees; preparation of cashier banks for all locations; oversight of daily count, deposit, and audit process; placing change orders; and payroll distribution.
  • Audit the daily sales and cashier reports for all revenue departments
  • Prepare cashier banks for all locations, verifying totals and making change where necessary
  • Count and verify money for daily bank deposit, verify all payment types (cash, cc, billing payment) against daily sales reports.
  • Identify and resolve problems that may occur during the daily sales reconciliation. Communicate with department managers to resolve any errors and follow up until the problem is solved.
  • Partner with operations leaders to identify cost trends, efficiency opportunities, and revenue drivers.
  • Assist in the development of financial models and decision-support tools for new initiatives, strategies, and capital projects.
  • Support the annual budget process and long-range planning efforts for the resort.
  • Contribute to cross-departmental projects with data and financial insights, as well as scenario modeling.
  • Maintain Asset Tiger and Traka21 systems for cash bag and key tracking.
  • Manage chargeback tracking and responses.
  • Perform vault audits, including spot bank audits, on a regular basis.
  • Work with Supervisor to improve process and procedure.
  • Audits the procedures of the cashiers and all points of sale.
  • Responsible for accurate daily safe count.
  • Supervise 1 Revenue Auditors and 2-3 Cash Auditors.
  • Work with the Accounting Manager to improve processes and procedures.
  • Assist with the annual year end audit.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear. Must be capable of walking or standing 50% or more of a normal 8-hour work shift. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 10lbs. Must be capable of occasionally squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and balancing, able to climb ladders and shovel snow. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee will frequently be exposed to extreme cold, wetness and/or humidity, and occasionally blizzards and extreme storm conditions.

Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate.

Education and Experience:

Required:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year cash auditing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Intermediate or above average excel skills

Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems (RTP, Siriusware, Lightspeed, etc.)
  • Exposure to budgeting or financial modeling
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle products, etc.)
  • Prior experience in the ski/resort, hospitality, or retail industries
