POSITION OVERVIEW: Oversees a group of individual military projects linked together through a shared organizational goal or common area of impact. This programmatic grouping of multiple projects provides synergy, consistent management, and greater visibility to stakeholders than individually managed projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Ensure consistent and successful delivery of military projects, meeting quality, scope, and schedule expectations.
  • Apply a standardized governance framework across multiple projects, with rolled-up status reporting that enables a global view and consistent enforcement of baseline quality requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver status updates that are clear, concise, and tailored to diverse audiences. Effective written, verbal, and organizational communication is essential.
  • Set direction to help shape project scope and timelines. Must be proactive in clarifying objectives, setting deadlines, and asking critical, probing questions to assess true project progress.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. When obstacles or resistance arise-as they often do-the Director must engage with the details and drive actionable solutions to keep programs on track.
  • Align cross-functional teams and business units to ensure that project execution supports broader company goals.
  • Identify, monitor, and triage risks as they develop. Escalate issues when necessary, but with measured judgment to avoid unnecessary disruption.
  • Continuously interpret project performance in relation to budgets, deadlines, and strategic goals. Maintain thorough documentation to support accountability and decision-making.
  • Identify and shape new military program opportunities. Lead capture efforts to expand the company's defense portfolio.
  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with military customers to ensure trust, satisfaction, and long-term success.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Up to 33% travel required
  • Position will be filled in Gatesville, TX


SKILL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Quality orientation and attention to detail
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High Performance teams and strong team player
  • Able to work with little guidance
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, including design for manufacture ability and lean manufacturing
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) programs


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • BS Degree preferred
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • 10-15 years industrial/military experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain secret clearance


WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas were certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
  • For the most part, ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
  • Travel required for project support, mostly in an outdoor environment


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  • Sit or stand as needed
  • Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
  • Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday.
  • Proper lifting techniques required.
