POSITION
SUMMARY:

The VDC Engineer 1 assists and supports the VDC
Manager or Senior VDC Manager on an assigned project. The position works under
direct supervision, performs routine daily activities, and gathers and
distributes information for the coordination effort on the project. The VDC
Engineer must be a flexible and adaptable team player and have strong
communication and client service skills.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the management of coordination standards for the project
  • Assist in getting the latest models from trade partners and design
    teams
  • Assist in clash detection review before coordination meetings
  • Assist the project team with analysis within the model
  • Review submittals against the trade models for accuracy
  • Initiate, prepare, review, track, and distribute RFIs for the
    coordination effort
  • Track and verify as-built submittals from key trades
  • Attend project meetings, as directed by Project Manager or
    Superintendents
  • Assist in reviewing processes within the software with the project
    team or trade partners
  • Assist in project procurement, including model setup for rendering,
    flythrough videos, or sequencing images
  • Communicate and enforce Manhattan's environmental, health, and
    safety management policies
  • Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-free environment through own
    actions and mentoring others
  • Maintain accurate contract documents
  • Assist other VDC Engineers, Senior VDC Managers, & VDC Managers.
  • Responsible for conducting themselves in accordance with our
    Guiding Principles and exhibiting attributes matching the Way We Work.
  • Other duties as assigned

JOB
SKILLS & ABILITIES GUIDELINES:

  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Autodesk
    Suite, Bluebeam, Revizto, Tekla, and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Manhattan document control
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic math/accounting skills
  • Functions effectively as part of a team
  • Dependability
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at
    all times
  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Time management skills and organizational skills
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications

MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4-year Bachelor's Degree- Construction Management, Engineering or
    equivalent. May substitute required education degree with related
    experience on a one-to-one basis

WORKING
CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS:

  • Ability to physically stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day.
  • Ability to repeat the same movements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to participate fully in meetings, video conferences, and phone calls.
  • Use hands to type, handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or control.
  • Occasionally lift, pull, or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional travel will be required, primarily in the metropolitan area but sometimes domestically (must have a valid Driver's License).
