Genesis10 is seeking a Sr. Manager/Director of Systems Technologies for our client in the Design Services Industry. This is a Direct Hire opportunity located in Irvine, CA 92617

The Sr Manager/Director of Systems Technologies leads the Systems pillar and ensures the infrastructure, networks, devices, support systems, and cybersecurity efforts across all studios are secure, scalable, and future-ready.

Position Summary

As the Sr. Manager/Director of Systems Technologies, you will provide vision, strategy, and leadership for the physical and digital infrastructure supporting our integrated design workflows. This role oversees IT operations, cloud and network infrastructure, cybersecurity, endpoint management, and the Service Desk.

  • You will lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of systems professionals and collaborate closely with company peers to implement strategic initiatives outlined in our annual Technology Roadmap.
  • The Sr. Manager/Director of Systems Technologies plays a key role in transforming how technology supports the company's mission of better design and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Contribute to and drive the company's infrastructure roadmap, aligning with our annual initiatives and firmwide business goals
  • Collaborate with the Lead Director and other pillar leaders (Design Technology, Business Technology, Data & AI) to support integrated workflows and cross-functional priorities
  • Translate firm-level objectives into actionable team plans, with clear KPIs, budgets, and delivery milestones
  • Represent Systems Technology in strategy sessions


Organizational Management

Direct a growing team including:

  • Infrastructure - responsible for servers, cloud platforms, physical and cyber security, and network performance
  • Service Desk - accountable for user support operations and ticketing systems


  • Lead professional development, team structure planning, hiring, and performance management
  • Promote a collaborative, responsive, and solutions-oriented team culture


Operational Excellence

  • Own delivery and optimization of core IT functions:


  • Network architecture, security and segmentation
  • Cloud-based and on-prem server management (incl. VMware to Hyper-V migration)
  • Enterprise device lifecycle management (e.g., 150+ device upgrades per quarter)
  • Microsoft 365, Exchange, Dynamics 365, Azure and Endpoint deployment ecosystems


Sr. Manager/Director of Systems Technologies

  • Maintain and evolve business continuity and disaster recovery plans
  • Serve as point of escalation for high-impact incidents and infrastructure emergencies


Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Oversee implementation of firmwide cybersecurity protocols in collaboration with the Security Analyst
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal audit standards
  • Develop internal training programs to promote best practices in security hygiene and system access


Technology Deployment & Change Management

  • Lead strategic IT projects such as:


  • 2025 Network Re-architecture
  • Hyper-V Server Migration
  • Cross-office technology standardization for office expansions and remodels


  • Guide change management for systems transitions and software upgrades with clear communication, documentation, and training resources
  • Support the company's broader goals including AI-ready infrastructure, data integrity, and automation


Key Milestones

First 3 Months:

  • Evaluate and refine infrastructure, Service Desk, and network operations
  • Finalize SLA performance frameworks with Service Desk Manager
  • Establish leadership cadence with project leads
  • Complete operational audit of backup systems, patching strategy, and system health metrics


Within 6 Months:

  • Complete and document Systems Technology's alignment with the company's 2025 initiatives
  • Launch centralized infrastructure dashboard and IT roadmap
  • Define infrastructure standards for new office IT fit-outs


Within 12 Months:

  • Own all Systems operations, staff, project delivery, and contribute to budgeting
  • Lead strategic planning sessions for upcoming calendar year initiatives
  • Demonstrate ROI on major transitions (e.g., Hyper-V, new network architecture)


Qualifications

Required:

  • 10+ years in IT operations and systems infrastructure leadership roles
  • 5+ years managing cross-functional teams including engineering, network, and support staff
  • Proven experience with enterprise-scale cloud and on-prem infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, Microsoft ecosystems, and modern deployment models
  • Exceptional communication and organizational leadership skills


Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CCNP, MCSA/MCSE, PMP or equivalent
  • Experience within AEC, design, or professional services industries
