Job Title: Welding Lab Technician
Salary range: MIN: $19.75/hr. MAX: $25.67/hr.
Typical Hours of Work: Working hours based on class and instructor needs.

- You like managing, organizing, maintaining the daily operations of the Welding and Mechanical labs including engineering technology laboratories and the Support Center including the following:
- all tool cribs and their organization,
- lab set-up and tear-down for classes for all labs and instructors;
- Operation of band saws, shears and other cutting devices to support course activities;
- daily coordination with the department chair(s) and coordinator(s).
- Responsible for mechanical and electrical repair and troubleshooting of welding and industrial and related equipment including fork truck, welders, lathes, shear, brakes, mills, and periodic maintenance of the filtration systems.
- Coordination of order, delivery and shipping and receiving of supplies related to welding classes (operation of hand/motorized lift trucks) include metal stock, coupons, welding consumables and other supplies with Instructors.
- Management of student workers is a possibility.
- Continuous improvement capability in lab setup, operation, and layout is desired.
- This position is for our Akron Welding and Joining center as well as the Main Campus Welding and Joining Center in addition to the support of other Engineering lab locations.
To be Considered You'll Need:
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of two years, full-time equivalent, of experience in an industrial or related field is required.
Preferred Qualifications (although not required):
Associate's degree or higher in a related field
