What We're Looking For:

If you are an aspiring scrum master with a background in agile or SAFe Iridium has an exciting opportunity for you on our Billing and Provisioning team! The Agile Scrum Master provides and Agile guidance and project coordination to successfully drive projects to completion while navigating interdependencies in a matrixed and fast-paced environment. This position will focus on a variety of projects that help support the launch of Iridium programs. These projects are critical to the future of the Iridium business, to our value-added partners and end customers, and are often in support of large, complex, and high-profile technology programs focused on end-to-end system solutions, new product development, network elements within the Iridium architecture, and modernization of existing systems. You will succeed in this role if you have a strong technical understanding to help support Iridium's engineering teams, ability to collaborate and share knowledge within your and other cross-functional teams, experience in project coordination and tracking in Jira with PI Planning.

What You'll Do:
    Work independently and proactively to identify stakeholders' needs and document requirements in a methodical and organized manner
  • Translate high-level goals into technical tasks with the development team
  • Guide the prioritization and planning of new projects and proactively remove blockers (technical or organizational)
  • Coordinate the delivery of multiple projects with end goals in mind, including setting personal priorities and collaborating with cross functional PMs; lead and collaborate with external partners on assigned tasks to ensure deadlines are met
  • Lead Scrum meetings with the Agile Development team and Support DevOps culture (CI/CD, automation); align technical efforts with Agile practices
  • Collaborate with Product Owner and Architects to manage the product backlog
  • Track metrics: velocity, burndown, technical debt, preparation, and distribution of status through velocity and burndown to the stakeholders
  • Provide knowledge and guidance around Agile/Scrum/SAFe principles and best practices to improve team effectiveness
  • Recommend solutions and present opportunities to help solve existing problems
  • Support financial tracking, procurement requests, or vendor coordination
  • Help develop and manage project plans by maintaining project calendar
  • Build stable working relationships with internal personnel and external stakeholders
  • Participate in broader team activities
What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Computer Science OR equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years' experience in agile development, preferably in a large, global organization
  • 3+ years' Scrum Master and project coordination in a technology environment
  • Technical fluency in / understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), architecture, APIs, cloud, or DevOps
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or similar Agile certification
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Agile tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Git, Azure DevOps)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues to groups outside of your team or those who are unfamiliar with the topic
  • Must be able to prioritize your own tasks, and potentially the tasks of others while making sure deadlines are met, and have a strong sense of ownership over your work
  • Proactively seek ways to improve yourself and gain new knowledge, and enthusiasm in sharing knowledge with others
Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:
  • Prior experience in Telecommunications, utility, or banking systems
  • SAFe (Scaled Agile) experience or working knowledge
  • Experience collaborating globally across timelines and cultures
  • Background in Engineering or systems development
We'll also need you to:
  • Be able to travel up to 10%
  • Be able to work a hybrid schedule that includes 3 days in office and 2 days from home
Work Environment:

This position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary with the majority of the position working with a computer. The role typically requires the use of basic office equipment such as a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
