Basic Function: The Inspector is responsible for in-process and/or final inspection of manufactured products in accordance with Optical Cable Corporation policies, procedures, work instructions, customer requirements, and military/government and industry standards. Minimum Qualifications Required: Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 1 year experience in a Quality Assurance/Control Inspection process. Experience in the fiber optic industry preferred. Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge: This position requires excellent computer skills and experience using Microsoft Windows applications (Word and Outlook). Pay close attention to detail with the ability to complete assignments accurately and recognize and help resolve problems. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the demonstrated ability to express oneself clearly and concisely. Must be capable of solving technical problems and providing sound solutions. Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision. Ability to organize, complete tasks, and manage time. Ability to read and understand product design drawings, schematics, and technical drawings. Working Conditions: While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and must be reasonably ambulatory. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 lbs. This job requires vision sufficient for completing quality work, reading comprehension, and computer use. This work also requires hearing sufficient for normal workplace conversation and training. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.
