As an Area Accounting Manager you will be responsible for establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information as well as providing counsel and guidance to management and accounting staff.

Connected to the newly expanded Baird Center, the Hilton Milwaukee City Center is Milwaukee's largest hotel. Built in 1927 as the Schroeder Hotel, the Hilton Milwaukee offers 729 well-appointed guest rooms and over 34,000 square feet of meeting and event space. What will you be doing?

* Act as back-up for the Area Controller; support accounting staff and handle MHR accounting requests as needed or during absences

* Help produce financial reports (daily, weekly, period, quarterly, annual)

* Maintain effective communication and collaboration with executives, managers, staff, and vendors

* Supervise, train, evaluate, and manage staff per MHR policies; work with Area Director of Finance, Area Controller, and HR on staffing matters

  • Directly oversee Accounts Receivable staff and functions

* Support Cashiering and Income Audit reporting

* Assist with tip reporting to Marcus Shared Services Payroll

* Contribute to payroll analytics for area properties

* Help prepare forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, income audits, and external audits

What do you bring to the role?

* College degree preferred

* Understanding of financial statements and GAAP concepts

* 2-3 years of accounting/finance experience in hospitality preferred (especially property-level)

* Strong problem-solving, documentation, research, and data analysis skills

* Prior supervisory experience is a plus

* Proficient in Excel and complex spreadsheets
