Pay:

Visterra offers competitive pay commensurate with experience in a similar position. The range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000 annually, but actual compensation will vary depending upon new hire experience and qualifications as well as internal equity.

Role Overview:

As the Benefits Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our comprehensive benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives. You will work closely with leadership and HR to ensure our benefits are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with the needs of our employees. Your role is crucial in attracting and retaining top talent, fostering employee well-being, and supporting our overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement, disability, and wellness initiatives.
  • Research and recommend new benefits offerings that align with company culture and employee needs.
  • Reporting and recording data to present senior leadership on benefits.
  • Partner with insurance providers, brokers, and third-party administrators to ensure cost-effective and high-quality benefit plans.
  • Manage open enrollment processes, including employee communications, presentations, and system updates.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws related to benefits administration, such as ACA, FMLA, COBRA, and ERISA.
  • Address employee inquiries and provide guidance on benefit options, enrollment, and eligibility.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of experience in benefits administration, preferably in a startup or fast-growing company.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits, laws and regulations.
  • Experience working with benefits providers, brokers, and third-party administrators.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate employees on benefits options.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time and be on-site when not traveling.
  • ADP is a plus.
