Essential Functions:

FINANCIAL STATEMENTS



  • Lead or assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes in accordance with US GAAP .
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to management and external stakeholders.
  • Perform corporate-level consolidations of financial results from subsidiaries or business units.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity and accuracy, including intercompany transactions and eliminations.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insight into variances, trends, and risks.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and ensuring compliance.
  • Assist with implementing and improving accounting processes and systems.
  • Stay current on accounting regulations and best practices.
  • Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on technical accounting matters.
  • Manage annual close activities related to tax journal entries.
  • Review data entered by Staff Accountant for third-party managed properties in the accounting software for accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze management fees billed versus collections and report findings to the Vice President of Property Management.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to convey complex issues clearly and effectively.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently under supervision and meet time-sensitive deadlines.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent required; advanced degree is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of general accounting experience required; experience in a non-profit environment is a plus.
  • Experience with Yardi accounting software preferred.
  • Experience with financial consolidations and multi-entity reporting preferred.
  • Genuine passion for working in a mission-driven organization.
