Job Family Description

Operations personnel have overall responsibility for the execution of nuclear non-proliferation, defense programs, and environmental remediation mission activities, as well as the management and coordination of multi-functional areas. This includes Radiological, Maintenance, Engineering, Nuclear Criticality, Quality Assurance, Nuclear Material Control & Accountability, and Weapons Production activities. Operations personnel oversee the safe and efficient functioning of plant systems, equipment, and machinery in a nuclear setting. They monitor operational parameters, conduct routine inspections, and ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements. They may respond to alarms, troubleshoot various issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain operational stability.

Discipline Description

Operations leadership personnel provide overall direction and oversight of Facility Operations and Operations Support functions to ensure strategies and schedules accomplish facility contract milestones while maintaining compliance with the safety envelope, laws and regulations and DOE Orders. They lead and schedule the execution of all missions, programs, and initiatives within nuclear facilities, to include ownership of support organizational functions such as Engineering, Training, Radiological Controls, Maintenance, Project Controls, Nuclear Criticality, Quality Assurance, Nuclear Material Control & Accountability, Construction, and Weapons Production. They establish performance standards and ensure adherence to the standards in the facilities.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

The Reservoir Surveillance Operations Manager holds direct ownership of all Reservoir Surveillance Operations within SRTE. They are accountable to the Area Operations Manager for the following:
- Maintenance and execution of schedules for activities related to Reservoir Surveillance Assembly, Environmental Conditioning, Function Testing, and Burst testing.
- Maintenance and execution of sample assay system deliverables.
- Informing outyear planning for both personnel and equipment needs. Providing FYNSP and near-term input to ensure proper staffing and facility equipment is available to fully execute the Reservoir Surveillance mission.
- Interfacing with HANM and HAOM personnel for building availability and negotiation of shared resources.
- Participation in Reservoir Surveillance method development.

The Reservoir Surveillance Operations Manager interfaces with the following entities:
- SRTE Engineering
- Analytical Laboratories
- SRNL personnel coordinating surveillance schedules.
- NNSA counterparts
- Business Planning and Financial personnel for contract maintenance and development

Required Qualifications

* Eight or more years of experience (YOE) as an individual contributor in one or more of the roles managed, OR Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field plus five or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed, OR Master's Degree in a relevant field plus three or more year of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed
* Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered

* Tritium production management experience
* Experience interfacing with NNSA contracts and business planning
* Experience in both Tritium Reservoir handling and gas processing.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
