Job Family Description

Communications personnel develop, plan, design, maintain and implement policies and programs that inform and enhance relationships with customers, local and regional communities, the general public, government and regulatory authorities, employees, and other interested stakeholders. They deliver communications through various media formats to provide accurate and timely information to internal and external audiences. They coordinate dissemination of company communications with news or trade media contacts, through special events and tours, public speaking, or other means to reach defined audiences and meet specific program objectives.

Corporate Communications is responsible for all public affairs and issues communications, emergency response and incidents communications, video, photography and animation media services, branding and logos, internal and external websites, education outreach, protocol and event planning execution, government and congressional relations, community relations, stakeholder engagement and company philanthropy.

Discipline Description

Media Design Services personnel produce, implement and deliver video, photographic and motion visual based content, graphic designs and related products and services, including lighting and audio design. They develop and maintain graphic designs (e.g., art, color themes, publications, presentations, photographs, web pages), audio and video to support the organization's image, identity, and brands. They develop and maintain the organization's visual-based standards, branding guidelines, techniques, and methods, including website design and layout. They develop strategic video production and photographic plans to support internal employee communications, external communications, public affairs, community relations, branding, and social media. They manage media assets, which may include full-services facilities, studios, hardware, and software tools required to deliver best-in-class productions and products.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

Media Specialist shall assist in the design and production of various multimedia programs which may include one or more of the following: programming, animation, graphics, audio/visual communications in technical, educational, or promotional information systems depending upon the individual assignment. Attend planning sessions with customers and offer guidance regarding Media Services capabilities and appropriateness of design decisions. Consult with and advise customers regarding production schedules, and potential visual impacts of various media production technologies and techniques. Provide broad technical design support for media services depending upon assignment. Research and remain cognizant of developing multimedia technologies. May administer or monitor a variety of contingency coordinator roles in support of media services.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least two years of experience (YOE) in a relevant role, OR Master's degree in relevant field
* Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
