This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

As part of a hardworking team of engineers and technicians, you will build, integrate, test and operate the New Glenn Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) labs we utilize to verify the performance of our avionics and electrical ground support equipment on New Glenn. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of the HIL development and its use as an operational verification tool.

As an integration technician, you will own the assembly of HIL electrical and mechanical systems using engineering drawings and process documents.You will need to be able to build, inspect, test and rework cable assemblies.You will need to perform checkout and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies.You will need to be able to load software and drivers onto computers and instruments.You will help to maintain a clean and orderly lab environment. You should be able to redline and update HIL documentation and drawings.

To be successful you will have to support the integration of flight avionics, ground support equipment, control consoles, and communication hardware in the HIL.You will also support integrated system tests in the HIL to perform flight software qualification and operator training.You must be able to modify the HIL configuration for system or subsystem level testing per engineering test procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of proven industry experience with electrical/electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Familiarity with industry standards for harness assembly, crimping and soldering operations (IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001, or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of digital circuits, analog circuits, computers, microprocessors, and networks
  • Experience assembling and handling small mechanical and electrical parts
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and written assembly procedures
  • Assembly experience using small power tools and hand tools such as screwdrivers, crimpers, and cutters
  • Proficient in the use of standard electronic lab test and troubleshooting equipment
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, attention-to-detail, and desire for continuous improvement
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in electrical or electronic engineering technology
  • PTC/CREO modelling and drafting experience
  • Current or expired harness assembly, crimping and soldering certifications (IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001, or equivalent)
  • Current or expired certification for Rework, Modification and Repair of Electronic Assemblies (IPC-7711B/7721B, or equivalent)

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $29.04-$40.65
