Inova Peterson Life With Cancer is looking for a dedicated Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator 2 to join our Behavioral Health team. This role will be Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm.

Job Responsibilities:

The Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator 2 maintains operations of admissions to the Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse Services and support for callers of the center. Assists with training new staff on call center operations, the intake process and customer service excellence.



  • Organizes referrals, provides outreach, and coordinates admissions to different levels of care via telephone.
  • Provides telephone support to patients, families and community members who call the behavioral health call center.
  • Conducts initial screenings and assessments to assess patient needs.
  • Coordinates admission appointments.
  • Assists with training new staff on call center operations and participates in quality improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Supports managing and triaging crisis calls.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm
  • Education: Associate's degree or HS Diploma/GED and equivalent education and experience
  • Experience: 1 year experience in addiction treatment or delivery of behavior health services. Experience which can include a practicum/internship in human services field.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health-related field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, or similar discipline)
  • Experience in behavioral health crisis assessment
