Summary of Job Duties:The Billing Analyst - Insurance is an area expert, works under general direction, and is responsible for research, analysis and resolution of physician and hospital accounts. This position works independently and with other departments and staff in researching complex accounts, analyzing various information, and reviewing procedures and regulations to resolve issues. The Billing Analyst is responsible for managing the billing process, including generating invoices, verifying billing data, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely processing often by communicating with customers to address billing issues while maintaining accurate account records; this role typically involves detailed work with billing software and requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain financial integrity. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED plus five (5) years of experience in a healthcare revenue cycle related or bookkeeping function OR BA degree plus (1) year of applicable experience.
  • Computer skills in data entry, charge entry, medical office and/or hospital billing.
  • Must be able to sit continuously and work on a computer for an 8 hour day.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coding certification.

Responsibilities:
* Manage the billing process, including generating invoices, verifying billing data, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely processing.
* Investigate account balances and cause for non-payment, initiating claim adjustments, and re-submitting a clean claim to the payer or billing to the patient, complete cash reconciliation.
* Communicate with other departments regarding insurance policies, collection processes, and billing regulations.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
