The University of Arizona Campus Store is seeking a customer-centric business professional to manage our McKale A Store.
The McKale A Store Manager is responsible for the daily operations, maintenance, scheduling, and event preparation of the store. The role ensures a safe, clean, and functional environment for athletes, staff, and spectators while supporting athletic events, practices, and other activities. In addition, this position plays a supporting role in other Campus Store events, collaborating with colleagues to ensure successful retail operations during major university events and seasonal promotions. Duties & Responsibilities |
Manage daily operations, ensuring seamless execution across all aspects of the business, including:
- Staff scheduling for optimal coverage.
- Manage the hiring, training, performance management and staff planning for all student workers and university staff.
- Maintain inventory levels and visual merchandising standards.
- Resolve customer issues efficiently.
- Ensure accurate end-of-day reporting and record-keeping.
- Act as a strategic partner with the Campus Store and key campus departments, with a primary focus on Athletics.
- Cultivate and sustain high-impact relationships, engaging partners to gather actionable feedback, and drive initiatives to enhance store performance.
- Represent the Campus Store in regular departmental meetings, serve as the voice of retail operations, and provide data-driven, industry-relevant insights to influence decisions and align objectives across units.
- Manage inventory strategy and execution for assigned locations, with primary responsibility for forecasting, stock level optimization, and contributing to product assortment planning.
- Partner closely with the main buying team to influence and align assortment decisions, ensuring they reflect customer demand and store-specific insights.
- Utilize data including historical sales, budget targets, and trend analysis to drive informed, results-oriented merchandising strategies
- Serve as a key support resource for other satellite store managers, stepping in to ensure seamless operations when coverage is needed.
- Provide on-site support for souvenir sales at athletic events in the absence of regularly scheduled staff.
- Collaborate with other store managers to coordinate staffing and maintain operational readiness across all locations.
- Partner with the promotions team to develop and execute strategies and campaigns that drive traffic and create additional revenue opportunities for the stores.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of retail operations, inventory management and other retail best practices.
- Ability to organize and manage on-site and off-site sales events.
- Advanced knowledge of point-of-sale systems and retail technology.
- Ability to communicate with a varied range of students, staff and community members.
- Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims.
