Consulting Services Group (CSG) is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Cyber Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a strong background in instruction and training for on-site support to a Department of Defense cyber-enterprise customer. The selected candidate will provide advanced-level expertise in cyberspace operations, assist in developing and delivering mission-ready training, and support capability development and readiness for operational teams.
The ideal candidate should have a multi-disciplinary background as a Cyber trainer, including experience in Operational Psychology, Information Operations, Human Intelligence, and/or Counter-Intelligence. The candidate should also have a deep understanding of and interest in foreign cultures. The candidate must be proficient in the current social media ecosystem. Experience executing Information Operations in Cyberspace is preferred. Cyber operations subject-matter expertise will be weighted more heavily than instructor experience.
Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert on cyberspace operations to support mission requirements, including offensive and defensive cyber operations. The Cyber Operations/Signature Management Subject Matter Expert (SME) Trainer supports all aspects of Cyber/SM activities involving the planning and execution of sensitive operations, assisting in the coordination of multiple projects.
- Develop, maintain, and deliver cyber training materials tailored to mission-specific needs, including operational tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). Coordinate with Course Leaders to develop and refine course curriculum to align with rapidly changing digital ecosystem and operational requirements.

- Incorporate Operational Psychology into the curriculum and articulate Operational Psychology's potential operational impact.
- Collaborate with leadership, mission planners, and training developers to align course content with evolving mission demands and real-world operations.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive practical exercises to augment course curriculum and highlight operational linkages.
- Leverage expertise in social media to teach students about latest platform trends, tools, and techniques.
- Utilize cultural proficiency to contextualize the course material, ensuring that students understand the implications of cultural differences on social media use and behavior.
- Maintain awareness of current geopolitical events as well as the cyber threat landscape, tools, and techniques relevant to cyber operations and incorporate into training courses.
- Facilitate a dynamic and engaging learning environment, using a variety of teaching methods and materials to cater to different learning styles.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must hold an active Department of Defense Top Secret Clearance and be SCI eligible.
- Ability to draft requirements documents, correspondence, and procedures in accordance with policies.
- At least 5 years' relevant operational experience. Relevant experience may include a combination of cyber operations, Information Operations in cyberspace, or experience as a HUMINT/CI case officer. While planning experience will be considered, hands-on operational experience is preferred
- Prior experience in developing and delivering cyber training or instruction in a military or interagency setting
- At least 3 years of instructor or course management experience
- Experience with traditional Signature/Identity Management and/or Cyber Signature/Identity Management
- Experience or background in operational psychology
- Experience or background in social media platforms
- Academic or practical knowledge of foreign languages and cultures, especially cultural knowledge related to usage of social media
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity or Cyber Operations, Operational Psychology, Foreign Languages & Literatures, Area Studies, or Digital Marketing. Master's degree preferred.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with cyber range environments and training platforms
- Instructor certifications (e.g., CompTIA CTT+, Cisco CCSI, or military-equivalent instructor badge)
- Completion of the following JCITA courses: Basic Operations Support Course (BOSC), Foundations of Sensitive Support (FOSS) Advanced Technicians Course (ATC), Advanced Planners Course (APC) or Due Diligence Course (DDC), and Joint Network Attack Course (JNAC)
- Military experience as a U.S. Army 17 series Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) or equivalent is preferred

- Work is typically performed in an office and/or data center environment, requiring computer terminals and standard office equipment to accomplish work objectives.
- This is a full time position working normal workday hours, Monday to Friday, with weekends and holidays off.
Travel:
- Occasional local travel required
Job location: Onsite in the vicinity of Laurel, Maryland. Remote telework is not available.
