Engineering Manager Essential Job Functions:
- Production Flow: Ensure continuous, error-free production activities.
- Engineering Support: Oversee manufacturing and facility engineering, manage projects, and support product engineering with concurrent practices.
- Process Improvement: Lead efforts to enhance safety, ergonomics, productivity, and quality in manufacturing processes and tooling. Manage environmental compliance and implement improvements.
- Technical Guidance: Support maintenance and lead design for efficient product packaging.
- Team Leadership: Oversee production staff, manage shift changes, and conduct training and performance reviews. Promote teamwork and address employee concerns.
- Communication & Coordination: Facilitate shift meetings, ensure effective communication within and across departments, and collaborate on strategic planning.
- Quality & Efficiency: Monitor product quality, resolve production issues, and drive process improvements. Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas in accordance with the 5S principles.
- Documentation & Flexibility: Ensure accuracy in documentation and data entry. Fill in for absent employees and manage peak workloads.
- Company Representation: Maintain a positive company image and assist in eliminating unsafe practices. Perform additional duties as needed.
Engineering Manager Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree* in engineering, manufacturing, or business-related area; Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering preferred.
- LTC Supervisory Management Program and/or Materials Management Program completion preferred.
- Minimum of three years supervising in a manufacturing setting; previous leadership experience in a fast-paced environment is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must possess excellent analytical, communication (verbal and written), influence change, leadership, organizational, problem-solving, project management, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, manage high-volume workload, and willingness to collaborate and support team efforts.
- Ability to meet the role's physical demands, including, but not limited to, continuous standing/walking and occasionally picking up material weighing up to 50 pounds.
Location-Specific Requirements:
- This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
- This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
