The Center for Psychological Services at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (
GSAPP) announces an opening for a Clinical Supervisor to lead the Tourette Syndrome Clinic (TS Clinic). The Clinical Supervisor will be involved in direct oversight of programming and provide supervision and training to doctoral students in assessment and/or treatment. The TS Clinic Supervisor will also work with/serve as a liaison to the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome and Associated Disorders (
NJCTS) and other community partners as needed. The TS Clinic Supervisor will provide 1 hour of individual and 1 hour of group supervision, each weekly on Thursdays for doctoral-level students placed in the specialty clinic. In addition to supervision, it is expected the Supervisor will provide weekly didactic training related to the treatment of Tourette Syndrome and related disorders. They will create the schedule of didactics and arrange for guest speakers, if desired or appropriate. This position will report to the Director of the Center for Psychological Services at
GSAPP and will have a standing biweekly or monthly meeting with the Director of
CPS, as needed. |

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
Ph.D. or PsyD. |
Certifications/Licenses |
Licensed as a Practicing Psychologist in New Jersey. Licensed for two or more years. Experience providing and/or supervising psychotherapy and/or assessment. Experience providing treatment for Tourette's Syndrome using cognitive-behavioral approaches, and/or experience treating other related childhood disorders such as anxiety or impulse-control disorders is preferred. |
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
All clients in this clinic are youth with Tourette Syndrome or subclinical issues such as vocal and motor tics, with comorbid anxiety and other impulse control features. As such, some level of knowledge of
CBT approaches to caring for these individuals is required. |
