Engineering Manager

Sayres is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and oversee all engineering and configuration management activities. In this role, you will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives, ensuring operational efficiency, and leading a high-performing team to deliver projects on time and within budget. You will play a key role in resolving complex technical and operational issues, contributing to long-term planning, and collaborating across departments to support organizational goals.

Roles/Responsibilities:

• Manages all engineering and configuration activities for this effort.

• Implements and maintains overall engineering and configuration management objectives and initiatives.

• Confronts and solves performance/operational issues to improve efficiency.

• Leads and develops the engineering and configuration management team.

• Oversees a robust project management process and delivery timelines to keep projects on schedule and on budget.

• Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility.

• May give input into developing the budget.

• Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.

Required Skills and Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM), or a related field

• Five (5) years of engineering and configuration experience with DoD efforts. Three (3) years of managerial experience with DoD efforts

• Experience managing a dispersed workforce in support of a diverse set of systems, networks, and capabilities similar to the engineering and configuration management requirements of this effort

• Familiarity with ISO 9000:2015

Desired Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in STEM/related field or management/related field
