The Director of Deposit Operations is responsible for the overall management of Great Plains State Bank's Deposit Operations Department. This includes overseeing the daily operations, developing and implementing new processes, regulatory compliance and managing a team of employees. This role ensures efficient, secure, and compliant deposit services while supporting strategic initiatives that enhance customer experience and drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities:



  • Oversee day-to-day deposit operations including new account processing, tellers, teller capture, wire transfer, ACH, positive pay, remote deposit capture, debit/ATM Cards, online/mobile banking, and safe deposit box management.
  • Create and maintain bank policies, procedures and training manuals.
  • Manage deposit operations third-party vendor relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations for all deposit-related systems across all branch locations.
  • Manage, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of deposit operations professionals.
  • Partner with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to implement system processing improvements; reviews and recommend new methods and procedures to make daily operations more efficient and profitable.
  • Collaborate with Senior Management to align operational priorities and system improvements with overall bank goals. Collaborate with Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on deposit operations annual budgeting and financial management to support sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and expense mitigation.
  • Prepare reports for Senior Management and Board of Director meetings.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of the current banking industry and trends.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in banking operations with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of deposit operations, banking regulations, and financial services systems.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage large-scale projects, and drive operational improvements.
  • Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and core banking applications like Fiserv, Premier and Director
