POSITION SUMMARY

Alterra's Corporate Development group is responsible for helping shape and drive Alterra's inorganic growth. We identify industry trends; partner with our corporate function and resort teams; maintain and develop relationships with key external parties; and leverage the broader Alterra platform to acquire strategic businesses and mountain destinations that support Alterra's goals. In addition to acquisitions, we influence build versus buy decisions that support Alterra's employee and guest experience goals, and we lead post-acquisition integration as the underwritten business plan is operationalized.

As a member of the Corporate Development team, you will hold an influential role in driving a significant portion of Alterra's future growth and innovation. You will have primary responsibility for business and financial analysis of potential transactions, management of due diligence and deal execution efforts, global market and industry analysis, and involvement in the broader development of industry relationships and acquisition opportunities. Alterra's Corporate Development team is in the early build phase, which means there's no shortage of opportunities to roll up your sleeves, work with Alterra's executive leadership team, and grow with the organization. A successful Corporate Development Sr. Analyst at Alterra will be analytical, curious, organized, proactive, and a self-starter.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the evaluation of Alterra's acquisition and investment strategy through the assessment, execution, and integration of potential acquisitions, divestures, investments, joint ventures, and mergers
  • Partner with corporate function and resort leaders to assess strategic and functional fit, and post-acquisition integration considerations
  • Build financial modeling, conduct valuation analyses, and develop business cases for potential transactions
  • Play a key role in due diligence efforts across functions, including coordination with internal stakeholders and external advisors
  • Contribute to the execution of special projects across the organization, including projects associated with financial and strategic initiatives, performance improvement, and long-term growth planning
  • Prepare executive presentations and summaries for Alterra's Executive Committee and Board of Directors
  • Conduct global market and industry research to identify trends, assess opportunities, and support broader M&A and business development strategies

REQUIREMENTS
  • 3+ years of experience at an investment bank, private equity firm, or within a large corporation's corporate development team
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Familiarity with accounting concepts and key operating metrics
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and manage cross functional workstreams with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent presentation skills including summarizing detailed analysis in presentation materials and verbally summarizing analysis to junior and senior stakeholders

EDUCATION REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree required

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of the Company's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Denver area base salary range: $100,000 to $140,000 per year
