Kamatics, a division of Kaman, specializes in self-lubricating bearings and engineered products. We have a great opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Machine Fluid Handler to join our team in Bloomfield, CT on first shift. The core hours for the position are 7:00am to 3:30pm and we are currently running one hour of mandatory overtime, offered at the front end of the shift for a required 45 hours a week. Overtime pay is 1.5x the hourly rate for all hours in excess of 40 in a week.

Our products are used in space, aviation, marine, hydropower and other industrial applications. As an industry leader we design, test and manufacture the highest performing, self-lubricating, roller element, metal to metal and miniature bearings in the industry.

Summary: Performs all coolant recycling and manages metal turnings for recycling to ensure that operations are within environmental requirements. Maintains cleanliness of machines and facilities.

Responsibilities:




  1. Following work orders, performs preventive maintenance on coolant on manual and automated machinery, including CNC lathes, millers, saws, grinding and honing equipment.




  1. Tops off coolant daily and monitors PH level and concentration levels.




  1. Takes care of all machine skimmers to assure proper operation of tramp oil removal from machines.




  1. Collects chip barrels from machines and moves barrels outside to trailer for recycling pick-up.




  1. Assists with janitorial work when needed.




  1. Performs all responsibilities within productivity and quality expectations. Follows work procedures.




  1. Maintains clean and safe work environment. Follows safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Reports safety incidents to supervisor.




  1. Makes recommendations for improvements to work processes. Contributes to 5 S program in work area.




  1. Provides a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Contributes to positive teamwork environment.




  1. Performs other duties as assigned. Participates in training/learning other positions. Accomplishes related results as needed.



Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma / GED.

Experience: 0-1 years manufacturing experience.
